Seed Phrase (also known as a 'Recovery Phrase' or 'Mnemonic Phrase'). A seed phrase is a list of 12 to 24 simple words that acts as the master key to your cryptocurrency wallet. When you create a new wallet, it generates this unique phrase for you. Think of it as the ultimate backup. If your computer crashes, your phone is stolen, or your hardware wallet is lost, this sequence of words is the only way to restore your access and recover your digital assets on a new device. It’s a bit like the combination to the main vault of your personal bank. Anyone who has this phrase can access and control your funds, and if you lose it, your funds are likely gone forever.
